A Form Easily Squashed
In the second half of the season finale, after a flashback to a date between Emma and Neal, Hook, Snow, and Charming are going to find Emma to get the ring back. Red helps them into the dungeon, but when they arrive, Emma has already escaped. Hook is displeased to find that she has made another change in history by rescuing Marion. Meanwhile, Snow has stolen back into the castle, and tries to throw the dark fairy dust at the queen. But the queen easily stops the attack, and takes Snow to be executed. The others get to the castle, but not before the queen throws a fireball to burn Snow at the stake.
Back at their camp, Emma mourns her mother, but then questions why she is still there if her mother was killed. Snow must still be alive! Suddenly a bug begins flying around them and nearly gets swatted by Hook, but Charming remembers that Snow told him about the fairy dust turning someone into a form easily squashed - a bug. He realizes that Snow must have saved enough of the dust to use on herself and escape her execution. The Blue Fairy appears and turns Snow back into herself, much to Emma's relief.
However, Maid Marion is still a danger. Emma sees no problem, but Hook can't shake the foreboding feeling of rescuing her. Even the most harmless change could bring monumental chaos in to their past and devastate their future. Emma decides that they should bring Marion home, where the past will still remain unchanged, with everyone thinking the girl is dead. Just then Charming appears, having just discovered that Snow has stolen his ring to run away to a new realm on a pirate ship. She is on the troll bridge, but is powerless, since she has already used the dark fairy dust on herself. Charming runs after her, and is about to be ripped apart by the trolls, when Snow threatened to turn them all into bugs with the fairy dust. Not wishing to be made beetles, the trolls retreat, releasing poor Charming. As it turns out, Snow was just using sand, and the two begin to fall for each other. Aww! The love story is back on track, and Henry's storybook returns the empty pages.
Emma and Hook return to the Dark Castle, where Rumple is concocting a forgetting potion. He believes that the knowledge he has been given is too dangerous and may change his future of finding Bae. He also informs them a time-travel portal can only be opened by someone who has traveled through it. He then puts them in his vault - a place where he guards dangerous or unpredictable magic. Hook begins looking around for a way out, searching through the vases and shelves, while Emma despairs. Since she has lost her magic, there is no way to make the portal work, even if she uses Rumple's wand. But almost losing her mother has finally made Emma realize that she belongs in Storybrooke. Even with all the danger and craziness in the magical town, she realizes that her family is what makes that place her home. As Neal said, home is the place you miss, and Emma has never missed her family more. But lo and behold, Emma has her magic back now that Zelena is defeated, and she is able to open the portal. Hook jumps through with Marion, but just before Emma can follow, Rumple appears and grabs her arm. He threatens to make her stay unless she tells him everything. She reveals that although the Dark One will find his son, and that he loves and forgives him, that he will die. The look of Rumple's face is heartbreaking, and he murmurs that he can change history, but Emma warns him that it may make matters worse. She begs him to take the forgetting potion and leave Neal to have died a hero. Shockingly, he takes her advice, and she is sent back to Storybrooke just in time, with a hilarious reaction from Rumple. I'm surprised that he would ever let news of his son's death be forgotten, knowing how much Rumple was willing to do for his son, especially at that stage in history. I was hoping that somehow he could change something. Come back Neal!

There's No Place Like Home
The last few moments of the episode are the best - packed with character moments. Emma runs back and hugs her parents, calling them Mom and Dad (aww!!!) and tells them that she's staying in Storybrooke. Then David and Mary Margaret announce the baby's name in remembrance of a hero - Prince Neal. It was such a sweet moment, and clearly touched Emma and especially Rumple. Emma then joins Hook outside and thanks him for coming back for her in the past and in New York. When she questions how he got back to our land, we finally find out what happened to the Jolly Roger. He traded it for a magic bean to get back to Emma. So cute! Hook gets the thanks he's been waiting for, as the two make out for a long time. We also see a shot of Regina, Roland, and Robin walking hand in hand, smiling at a second chance.
To continue the happy endings, my favorite couple, Rumple and Belle, finally get married in the cutest wedding EVER. Yay!! I never thought I'd see the day! Although Belle looked beautiful in her vintage clothing, I was really really hoping for a gorgeous fairy-tale gown, but oh well. The two have a small ceremony in the forest by the well where lost things are returned - this time, a second chance at true love. They say beautiful vows to each other, and we all teared up with Rumple when Belle said that she loved him for his flaws, and that the sometimes the best books are dusty, the best teacups chipped. The scene was everything we hoped it would be - completely adorable.
But in true OUAT fashion, happy endings never last long. In Granny's diner, Marion is looking warily at Regina, who she knew as the Evil Queen. Emma is about to make introductions when a shocked Robin embraces her. Regina's eyes turn to daggers as she blames Emma for taking her happy ending, just like Snow did. And how long will Rumple and Belle be happy before she inevitably finds out about his secret? Zelena's death was bad enough, but to actually give her a fake dagger as a symbol of trust? I know the Dark One has a plan and a reason for his actions, as we've been told by the writers, but at first, Belle will understandably have a lot to get over before she understands his point of view.
As the final icing on the cake, we are taken back to the barn, where a vase from Rumple's vault was also brought back. Out of it comes a blue liquid, which transforms into none other than "Frozen's" Elsa! She then destroys the vase and begins walking to town, leaving a trail of ice behind her. Is she an evil villain, or just a frightened, out-of-control girl? Is she angry at Rumple for imprisoning her? We'll have to wait till season 4 to find out! Stay tuned!
